4 months agoMiami Marlins left-hander Jesus Luzardo (back) is on the 60-day injured list until at least Aug. 18 with a lumbar stress reaction in his back, but it hasn't stopped teams from inquiring about his availability with the trade deadline approaching at the end of this month. Interested clubs believe he'd still make an impact in the pennant stretch and the postseason. Luzardo went 3-6 with a bloated 5.00 ERA (4.27 FIP) and 1.24 WHIP with 58 strikeouts and 22 walks in 66 2/3 innings in 12 starts this year before injuring his back. It hasn't been pretty, but he's still stash-worthy in most fantasy leagues after he posted a career-high 208 strikeouts and a 3.58 ERA in 178 2/3 frames over 32 starts in his second full season for the Fish in 2023. If healthy and pitching for a contender in the second half, Luzardo would have even more fantasy upside.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
