Taylor Trammell Continues to Impress New Team
4 years agoNow with his third organization, Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Taylor Trammell is looking to make a good first-impression this spring. And the recent knee injury to fellow prospect Jarred Kelenic could open up more at-bats for Trammell. So far this spring, the 23-year-old outfielder is 3-for-8 in five games. His power-speed combination has been on full display with a stolen base and all three hits going for extra bases. Perhaps most promising, Trammell has just one strikeout. If he can continue to make consistent contact and polish his approach, he has 20-20 (HR-SB) upside. Rotoballer has ranked Trammell as the 27th-best dynasty outfield prospect in baseball.

Yankees Claim Taylor Trammell Off Waivers From Dodgers
11 months agoThe New York Yankees claimed outfielder Taylor Trammell off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. To make room on their 40-man roster, the Yankees designated infielder Kevin Smith for assignment. The Dodgers dumped Trammell off their 40-man roster earlier this week after going hitless with three strikeouts in six plate appearances with them over five games. The former 35th overall pick by the Cincinnati Reds in 2016 out of high school just has not been able to figure out major-league pitching in 121 games, batting .165 (51-for-310) with 15 home runs, 39 RBI and four stolen bases. For now, he'll ride the pine in the Bronx while providing outfield depth behind Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Giancarlo Stanton, Alex Verdugo and Trent Grisham.

Taylor Trammell Draws Into Dodgers Lineup
11 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Taylor Trammell is starting in left field and is batting ninth for the Dodgers on Monday against the Minnesota Twins and right-handed Bailey Ober for the series opener. The former top prospect with the Seattle Mariners will make his first start for the Blue after being claimed off waivers from Seattle and called up to the majors when Jason Heyward (back) landed on the injured list last week. The 26-year-old probably isn't going to see many more starts this year and isn't a recommended DFS play for Monday's slate. The left-handed hitter is a career .167/.269/.367 hitter in 118 big-league games with 15 home runs, 39 RBI and four stolen bases in 352 plate appearances. Trammell didn't record a hit in his only career at-bat against Ober.

Dodgers Claim Taylor Trammell Off Waivers From Mariners
12 months agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers claimed outfielder Taylor Trammell off waivers on Tuesday after he was recently designated for assignment by the Seattle Mariners, according to a source. Trammell, 26, has not lived up to his first-round pedigree since the Cincinnati Reds took him 35th overall in 2016. All three of his big-league seasons have come with the Seattle Mariners, and he's hit just .168/.270/.368 with 15 home runs, 39 RBI, four stolen bases and 45 runs scored in 116 games played. In the last three years with the M's, Trammell has struck out nearly 40 percent of the time. If it was hard for Trammell to stick at the major-league level with the Mariners, it's going to be even harder to do so in the Dodgers' organization.

Taylor Trammell Starting On Sunday Against Toronto
2 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Taylor Trammell is starting in left field for Sunday's series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays. Trammell was called up in the wake of Jarred Kelenic's (foot) injury earlier in the week so this will be his first game starting. Dylan Moore, who's played in every contest since Kelenic went down, will be getting Sunday off. Trammell owns a .274/.387/.537 batting line with 12 home runs, 32 RBI, and six stolen bases across 45 games at Triple-A Tacoma this season but is batting just .133 with a .611 OPS in 20 games with the M's. There's not much, if any, fantasy appeal here. Trammell is batting eighth and Kolten Wong, who is starting at second base, is batting ninth against Alek Manoah.
