Taylor Rogers Works A Scoreless Inning Against Milwaukee
4 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Taylor Rogers had a solid start to his 2021 season in an Opening Day loss to the Brewers. Rogers took the ball in the seventh inning and pitched a scoreless frame, allowing no hits or walks while recording a strikeout. The veteran closer impressively got Christian Yelich to strike out on four pitches, sending him down swinging on a slider. Although it's only one game, it was a good day for Rogers' fantasy stock, as newcomer Alex Colome got the ninth-inning gig on Thursday with a three-run lead and blew the save. Rogers' usage is liable to be a bit wonky at times, but he could end up being the better value at his 202 ADP- compared to Colome's 160 ADP- especially if the former looks more like the pitcher who posted a 28.4 percent K-BB rate in 2019.
