Taylor Rogers Saddled With The Loss Tuesday
4 years agoMinnesota Twins closer Taylor Rogers worked in a non-save situation on Tuesday against the Brewers and picked up his second loss of the season. Rogers surrendered two runs on a home run to Jedd Gyorko and now has a bloated 5.68 ERA, despite how sharp he's looked for the majority of his appearances. This performance comes just a day after manager Rocco Baldelli spoke about managing the load of his relievers in a short season. It's a bit odd that Baldelli would go to Rogers in a non-save scenario just one day after using him for 21 pitches in the ninth. In 2019, Rogers had a 7.20 ERA when pitching on no rest, so perhaps Baldelli will need to be more selective with the 29-year-old.
