Taylor Rogers Records Easy Save In Thursday's Win
3 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Taylor Rogers worked an easy ninth to pick up his eighth save of the season in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Detroit Tigers. Rogers needed just six pitches to navigate the frame, getting two quick outs, then striking out the final hitter on three pitches. The southpaw lowered his season ERA to 2.45 with the effort. Rogers has posted career-best marks in strikeout rate, 34.7 percent, as well as xERA, 2.28, as he has been Minnesota's most steady bullpen arm this season. The Twins will have to come to terms with being sellers at the trade deadline, and Rogers could potentially be on the move to a contender, which would boost his fantasy value for the second half.
