Taylor Rogers Picks Up First Save Friday
4 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Taylor Rogers recorded his first save of the season in a 2-0 victory over the Pirates on Friday. Rogers entered the game in the ninth inning with one out already recorded, courtesy of Tyler Duffey, and needed just 12 pitches to get the two-out save, inducing an easy grounder and fanning one batter. The southpaw still has yet to allow an earned run and owns 10 strikeouts to just one free pass, an intentional walk. The Twins' closer situation will always be a committee with Rocco Baldelli as the manager, though it seems like Rogers may have cut himself a larger slice of the pie with his success- and Alex Colome's recent struggles.
