Taylor Rogers Picks Up First Save Against Cardinals
4 years agoMinnesota Twins closer Taylor Rogers pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to notch his first save of the 2020 season. Rogers looked sharp, throwing nine of 11 pitches for strikes and recording two punch-outs. This performance came just one night after manager Rocco Baldelli curiously used Sergio Romo to pitch the ninth instead of his incumbent closer. Baldelli said it was a circumstantial move and that appears to be true after the events of Wednesday night, as he went right to Rogers in the ninth after using Romo in the seventh. Fantasy owners with Taylor Rogers stock can breathe a sigh of relief.
