Taylor Rogers Notches Third Save
3 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Taylor Rogers picked up his third save of the season in Tuesday's 7-4 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Rogers worked his first save opportunity since the beginning of the month and safely navigated the four outs asked of him. The southpaw lowered his ERA to 2.21- and he has five holds in addition to his trio of saves. Rogers' 28.6 K-BB percentage ranks 12th among relievers. That strikeout ability seemingly makes him a strong option for the ninth, though manager Rocco Baldelli has been reluctant to settle on one option during his tenure in Minnesota. It's likely to be Rogers and Hansel Robles in the ninth moving forward, as Alex Colome has had a couple of shaky performances in higher leverage situations recently.
