Taylor Rogers Nails Down Multi-Inning Save
5 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Taylor Rogers shut the door on the Cleveland Indians in a 5-3 victory on Friday night. Rogers pitched a clean last two innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three for his 13th save of the year. Rogers has been lights-out this season, with a 1.73 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 32.5% strikeout rate, and a 54/7 K/BB ratio over 41 and 2/3 innings. He has been particularly dominant as of late, notching a 0.84 ERA, 0.38 WHIP, 14 strikeouts, and five saves over his last seven games (10 and 2/3 innings). Rogers is looking to be running away with the closing job in Minnesota, though it remains a distinct possibility that the Twins bring in competition for him via trade. Rogers should be owned in most fantasy formats as the current starting closer on a first-place team.
