Taylor Rogers Drawing Padres' Interest
3 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Taylor Rogers has generated interest from the San Diego Padres as trade talks between the two teams continue, according to a report from Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. He would be part of the return heading back to San Diego in exchange for Chris Paddack, though as Rosenthal notes, talks are "fluid" and there are "lots of moving parts." A six-year veteran, Rogers made his first All-Star team in 2021 and finished the year with a 2.51 xERA, 1.14 WHIP, 35.5 percent strikeout rate, and 4.8 percent walk rate. The southpaw's two-pitch mix features a slider that he employs the most, as well as an upper-90s fastball. Rogers is a key name in the fantasy baseball world, appearing 16th among relievers in the latest RotoBaller draft rankings.
