Taylor Rogers Blows Save
4 years agoMinnesota Twins relief pitcher Taylor Rogers blew his second save of the season in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers. Rogers came on in the eighth inning for a four-out save, and it started off promising with a quick strikeout. However, the wheels fell off in the ninth- as he surrendered a leadoff homer to Willie Calhoun followed by an error, single, and a sacrifice fly, which tied the game. Rogers had been relatively spotless heading into the series against the Rangers but has struggled a bit since, allowing home runs in each of his last two outings. The Twins will always deploy a committee, so if Rogers struggles and Alex Colome hasn't regained the ninth yet, manager Rocco Baldelli could turn to Hansel Robles for a few chances in the ninth.
