Taylor Heinicke To Remain Starting QB For Now
2 years agoWashington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke is expected to remain the starter even after Carson Wentz (finger) returns from injured reserve, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Heinicke has looked solid in Wentz's absence, completing 62 percent of his passes for 840 yards, five touchdowns, and four interceptions. All the while, he has led the Commanders to a 3-1 record over the course of his four starts. Until Wentz is activated, rookie Sam Howell will operate as Heinicke's backup, and there is the potential for him to see some snaps if Sunday's game against the Houston Texans gets out of hand.
