Taylor Heinicke Efficient Against Kansas City
2 years agoWashington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke completed 9-of-12 passes for 83 yards and one touchdown with a 121.2 rating during Saturday's preseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Heinicke struggled in Week 1 of the preseason, but he certainly made up for his poor performance through his efficient play. The former Monarch provided a jolt of life by orchestrating an 84-yard touchdown drive that brought the Commanders back within one touchdown of the Chiefs. There were whispers last week about the former starter losing his backup job to the fifth-round rookie, Sam Howell. But he seems to have solidified his position as the QB2 until further notice after this most recent performance. Heinicke is still one of the better backup quarterbacks in football. He should be considered a decent insurance policy for Superflex managers if anything were to happen to Carson Wentz.
