3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Tarik Skubal (shin) was hit in his left shin by a comebacker off the bat of Cleveland Guardians outfielder Ernie Clement on Friday. He exited the game after the incident. Following the game, Skubal told reporters that he didn't think the injury was anything significant. He said that he was hopeful he would make his next start, which is scheduled for next Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins. His shin was swollen after the game and because of the swelling, he hadn't yet received any diagnostic tests. The team will certainly be running tests on him and monitoring him closely over the coming days, but it appears at this point as if he's likely to avoid the injured list.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
