Tanner Scott Scoops Up Save For Marlins
3 years agoMiami Marlins reliever Tanner Scott notched his first save of the season on Saturday as his club defeated the Braves 9-7. The left-hander faced the top of the order in the ninth and retired them all on 11 pitches, picking up one strikeout in the process. With Anthony Bender struggling so far in the closing role, Scott got the well-deserved call in the ninth despite Bender last seeing action in a 19-pitch performance on Wednesday. He has now allowed two runs on two hits through his first seven innings on the year, pitching to a stellar 12/2 K/BB since getting acquired from the Orioles prior to the season. With Dylan Floro still sidelined, Scott is a name to watch as he could find himself fall into more save opportunities if he keeps up the terrific work.
