Tanner Scott Notches Fifth Save Tuesday
1 year agoMiami Marlins relief pitcher Tanner Scott converted his fifth save of the season in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Dodgers. Scott came in to pitch the top of the ninth inning up by three. He got the first out on a strikeout, allowed a single, got the second out on a pop-out, and ended the game with another strikeout. The 29-year-old appears to have replaced David Robertson as the team's closer and has pitched well this season with a 2.33 ERA and a 12.06 K/9 rate. Given his strikeout upside and the fact that he spent time closing last season, Scott appears to be a must-roster fantasy reliever down the stretch.
