Tanner Scott Blows Save, Escapes With Win Tuesday
1 year agoMiami Marlins closer Tanner Scott blew his fourth save of the season but earned his ninth win in Tuesday's 4-3 game against the Mets. Scott came in to pitch the top of the ninth up by two. He allowed a double and a single before getting the first and second outs on groundouts. He then allowed a game-tying, two-RBI double before getting the final out on another groundout. The Marlins were able to walk it off in the bottom half of the inning, making Scott the pitcher of record. While he has pitched well since taking over as the team's closer, Scott has allowed runs in back-to-back performances. Still, fantasy managers should consider giving him a bit of a leash for the rest of the season given his strong overall performance.
