Tanner Houck Pitches Five Perfect Innings On Saturday
3 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Tanner Houck was perfect through five innings in his start against the Washington Nationals on Saturday. He retired each of the 15 batters he faced, striking out eight of them. He was pulled after throwing 53 pitches. Unfortunately, he got minimal run support and wound up with a no decision. The 25-year-old has had a few dominant outings this year, but this was very clearly his most impressive showing of the year. He made a total of 18 appearances on the season (13 starts) and went 1-5 with a 3.52 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP.
