Tanner Bibee Impresses In MLB Debut
2 years agoCleveland Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee was excellent in his MLB debut on Wednesday. Bibee allowed one run on six hits over 5 2/3 innings in a 4-1 win over the Colorado Rockies. The 24-year-old rookie struck out eight and walked none in the win while notching 11 swinging strikes on 91 pitches. Bibee, Cleveland's No. 5 prospect, also recorded his name in the record books as he is the first Cleveland pitcher in the live-ball era to record five straight strikeouts. Cleveland manager Terry Francona told reporters that Bibee is expected to stick around in the big leagues for the time being, making him a priority waiver add in all leagues. He is tentatively listed as the starter for Cleveland's Tuesday game against the New York Yankees.
