Tanner Banks To Serve As Opener Against Rangers
1 year agoChicago White Sox left-hander Tanner Banks will serve as the opener for the team on Monday against the Texas Rangers. Banks could go two to three innings as the starter on Monday, but fantasy managers should still be looking to avoid him. The 31-year-old southpaw has a tough matchup and will not be around for a decision to begin the week. He's made only six appearances out of the bullpen for the Pale Hose in 2023, allowing five runs on nine hits (two homers surrendered) while walking two and striking out 10 in 11 2/3 innings of work. Right-hander Jesse Scholtens, who has a 2.89 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in seven appearances (one start) in his rookie season so far, is expected to be Chicago's bulk reliever on Monday.
