The Charlotte Hornets have reportedly signed center
Taj Gibson on Saturday. The veteran big man heads to Charlotte on a one-year deal for $3.3 million for the 2024 season. The 39-year-old averaged 1.7 points and 1.9 rebounds across 10.3 minutes in 20 games last season. He's a valuable veteran presence for this young roster. However, Gibson is unlikely to have much of a role behind
Mark Williams and
Nick Richards.

Detroit Pistons forward/center
Taj Gibson (hamstring) won't be in the lineup against Memphis on Monday. The veteran has been downgraded from doubtful to out. Gibson likely wouldn't have seen time on the court anyway, as he's only played in one game for the Pistons since signing with the team on March 6. His next opportunity to play will come on Wednesday versus Atlanta.

Gibson has featured just once for Detroit since joining the club on March 6 -- an 11-minute effort against Boston -- and his absence doesn't impact the team in any way.
Jalen Duren leads Detroit's frontcourt with the support of
James Wiseman,
Tosan Evbuomwan, and
Chimezie Metu. The Pistons bigs face a tough challenge on Monday against
Jaren Jackson Jr., who won the Defensive Player of the Year Award a season ago.

Taj Gibson (hamstring) is unavailable for Friday's game against the Washington Wizards. Gibson has been suffering from right-hamstring soreness and will miss his sixth consecutive contest. Currently, there is no timetable for when he will return. The veteran forward last played on March 18 against Boston, where he posted just three points, two rebounds, and one steal in 11 minutes of playing time. If the 38-year-old returns this season, he won't be a fantasy factor.
