Taijuan Walker Ready To Go For 2020 Season
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Taijuan Walker (elbow) says he "feels good" after a lengthy recovery from Tommy John surgery in which he pitched just one inning over the past 25 months. After re-signing a one-year deal with the Mariners, Walker had his first live throwing session on July 7 and was hitting 90-93 mph with his fastball. In his last full season with the Diamondbacks in 2017, Walker posted a 9-9 record with a 3.49 ERA while striking out 8.35 batters per nine innings. Walker is expected to start the 2020 season in Seattle's six-man rotation, but given his injury history and expected lack of run support, Walker is currently our 175th-ranked starting pitcher and should be considered a low-end fantasy option.
