Taijuan Walker Pitches Seven Strong Innings Friday
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Taijuan Walker gave up one hit and two walks over seven shutout innings in Friday's win over the Athletics. Walker looked great in his second start back from a lengthy absence and the strikeouts were back too as he struck out eight batters. Walker had a rough first start of the season but coming in to that start he had only thrown 14 innings since 2017 and it was a tough matchup against the Astros. Though it is unrealistic to expect production this good moving forward, this was certainly a step in the right direction. Walker is set to take on the Angels on Wednesday and may be worth starting, especially if Mike Trout is still out of the lineup.
