Taijuan Walker Has Been Dealing With Side Issues For Weeks
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Taijuan Walker (side) said after the game that the tightness in his side that forced his early exit on Monday is an issue that has been affecting him for the past couple weeks, according to Tim Britton of The Athletic. Walker added that the three innings he pitched Monday was "basically all I had for today," but he thinks it's an issue he should be able to manage going forward. Britton adds that Walker is expected to undergo an MRI on Tuesday. Walker tossed three scoreless innings against the Braves Monday, as he lowered his ERA to 2.05 with 41 strikeouts in 44 innings of work. Consider Walker day-to-day for now, and check for updates following his MRI on Tuesday.
