Thompson would open the scoring in the first period as he beat Stuart Skinner with a wrist shot. Later in the third, Thompson would break the stalemate and score the game-winner. After seeing his three-game goal streak come to an end during his previous game on Saturday evening, Thompson returned to form on Monday and scored twice. Through 57 total games this season, Thompson has found the back of the net 33 times, added 23 helpers and totaled an impressive 178 shots on goal (3.1 shots on goal). He remains a must-start player and will look to kickstart another goal scoring streak on Wednesday against the Detroit Red Wings.
