T.J. Hockenson's Role For Sunday Still Unknown
5 years agoDetroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson will look to start his rookie season on the right foot this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Hockenson is second on the tight end depth chart, behind Jesse James, but has proven that he is an excellent pass-catch so could find himself on the field quite a bit. Hockenson and Stafford seemed to have connected well throughout training camp and preseason and the Arizona defense is a well-below average unit; the recipe for Hockenson to have a solid opener is there. Regardless, Hockenson is just too risky to start as a TE1 this week, his exact role is largely unknown and there is a chance his snaps remain limited. He is worth a shot as a TE2 and depth option in most leagues.
