Sungjae Im Relying On Short Game
3 years agoSungjae Im has not gained more than 1.5 strokes on approach in any of his last five starts. Im will need to beat Patrick Cantlay, Seamus Power and Keith Mitchell if he wants to advance out of his group this week. He has been struggling with his irons for the last two months, which will put a lot of pressure on his short game. In an event where one bad round can eliminate you from the tournament, Im's volatile short game will be working overtime to ensure he makes it deep into the tournament.

Adam Hadwin Looking To Bounce Back At Valspar Championship
46 mins agoAfter missing the cut at The PLAYERS Championship this past week, Adam Hadwin is looking to bounce back at this week's Valspar Championship. Hadwin has been relatively inconsistent in 2025, with three missed cuts and only one top-10 finish. However, he has an excellent track record at this event. He won back in 2017 and has three top-15 finishes. His game suits Copperhead well with his accuracy off the tee and a stellar short game around the green, where he ranks 80th and 53rd on Tour. Hadwin is a prime bounce-back candidate and is worth a flyer this week.

Avoid Cam Davis At Valspar Championship
60 mins agoTo say Cam Davis has struggled in his last three events is an understatement. After finishing tied for fifth in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, he has failed to make the cut in his previous three tournaments played. To make matters worse, he has only played in the Valspar Championship twice, missing the cut both times. The key to success at Copperhead is precision off the tee and solid short game. Davis ranks 35th in strokes gained around the green; however, he also ranks 169th in strokes gained off the tee and 135th in driving accuracy. Avoid him at all costs this week

Sepp Straka Eyeing Victory At Valspar Championship
16 hours agoSepp Straka had another impressive tournament at The PLAYERS, gaining strokes across all areas and finishing T14. This marks his seventh top-20 finish of the season and he looks to keep the momentum going at the Valspar Championship, an event he has played in twice, missing the cut in 2024 and finishing T46 in 2023. To succeed at Copperhead, players need to be precise from tee to green and sharp with their short game. Straka ranks 12th in strokes gained from tee to green (1.204 per round), sixth on approach (0.933), 85th around the green (0.031), and 53rd in putting (0.283). He also excels in other key areas, ranking 10th in bogey avoidance, 11th in driving accuracy, and is in the 98th percentile for proximity from 150-200 yards over the past 12 months, a range that accounted for 37% of all approach shots here last year. At $10,000 on DraftKings, fantasy managers can confidently continue to fire up Straka.

Sam Stevens Looking To Get Back Into Form At Valspar Championship
17 hours agoSam Stevens shot a two-over 74 on Thursday at The PLAYERS and was unable to make up ground on Friday, ultimately missing the cut by two strokes. This marks his second missed cut in his last three starts, and this week may not be any easier for Stevens, who has recorded a T64 and a missed cut at the Valspar Championship in his two previous trips. To turn around his luck at Copperhead, he will need to be precise from tee to green and sharp with his short game. Stevens currently ranks 62nd in strokes gained from tee to green (0.330 per round), 98th in approach (0.005), 118th around the green (minus-0.086), and 108th in putting (minus-0.067). However, he does rank in the 76th percentile for proximity from 150-200 yards over the past 12 months, a range that accounted for 37% of all approach shots here last year. Given his recent form and lack of success at this course, fantasy managers should weigh their options before committing to his $7,300 price tag on DraftKings.
