8 months agoEdmonton Oilers netminder Stuart Skinner will not be between the pipes of Tuesday's contest against the visiting Montreal Canadiens. This is not a back-to-back scenario, meaning this is strictly to give Skinner some rest while Calvin Pickard gets the start. The 25-year-old has indeed been leaned on heavily this season with his 49 games played sitting in a five-way tie for the second-most outings by a netminder this season. Skinner has posted a 2.57 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage on the season, posting a 30-13-4 record in the process. His 5.34 goals saved above average sits 24th of 69 qualified netminders, according to Hockey Reference. Pickard sports a 2.27 GAA and .919 Sv% across 14 games (13 starts) for the Oilers this season and is a strong streaming option against a Canadiens team that ranks 27th with 2.72 goals per game on the season.--Brenton Kemp
