Struggling Marcus Semien Aiming To Maintain Success Versus Verlander
1 year agoTexas Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien will look to maintain his career-long success against Astros right-hander Justin Verlander on Friday night despite entering the game with a cold bat. The veteran has just three hits, and zero extra-base hits, with one walk across 17 plate appearances across the first four games of this ALCS versus the Astros. He does, however, sport quality career numbers off of Verlander as he has gone 14-for-46 (.304) with a double, a triple, and a pair of home runs in his career against Verlander, good for a healthy .804 OPS. While he has zero walks against nine strikeouts off of the Future Hall of Famer in that time, perhaps seeing a pitcher he has faced plenty throughout his career can help dig Semien out of his slump.
