Steven Wright Needs Surgery On Knee
6 years agoBoston Red Sox pitcher Steven Wright (knee) needs arthroscopic surgery on his knee, but he is waiting on a second opinion to see if he could be available if the team advances to the World Series. The knuckleballer had to be removed from the Division Series because of the injury, so he is unavailable to pitch in the American League Championship Series against the Astros. Wright is coming off major knee surgery from last year and made just 20 appearances this year (four starts). He has been a valuable swingman for Boston in the past, but he doesn't carry much fantasy value, even when he's starting.
