Steven Stamkos Hits Pair Of Power-Play Goals
4 months agoNashville Predators forward Steven Stamkos netted two power-play goals in a 5-3 road victory over Vancouver on Sunday. His second marker was the game-winner in the contest. With the two strikes, Stamkos took over the 11th spot on the all-time power-play goals list. He now has 219 of them on his resume. Five of Stamkos' six goals this season have come with the man advantage. His move to Music City hasn't worked out quite as well as many expected, and Stamkos was averaging even less than 0.5 points per game ahead of Sunday's matchup. He's now on 10 points (six goals, four assists) through 19 outings. You would expect to see Stamkos pick up his scoring pace at some point, but it's impossible to predict when that might happen.

Steven Stamkos Ready To Go Saturday
3 months agoNashville Predators forward Steven Stamkos (undisclosed) is likely to play against Washington on Saturday. The veteran star left Tuesday's matchup against Winnipeg early due to an undisclosed ailment, but Stamkos participated in Saturday's morning skate. After the session, he told Alex Daugherty of The Tennessean that he's "back to normal and good to go." Stamkos' debut campaign in Music City has been full of frustration, but he has found some form lately. The former Lightning captain has averaged close to a point per game in his past 13 outings. For the season overall, Stamkos is sporting 25 points (12 goals, 13 assists) in 41 appearances. He will continue to operate as the first-line center between Filip Forsberg and Jonathan Marchessault.

Steven Stamkos Exits Early On Tuesday
3 months agoAccording to Brooks Bratten of the Predators, center Steven Stamkos (undisclosed) exited Tuesday's game against the Winnipeg Jets early with an injury. Stamkos sat out the entire third period of Tuesday's contest. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to their next game on Saturday night against the Washington Capitals. Before exiting, he tallied one shot on goal with one hit and a -1 rating. While he did not get on the scoresheet, the 34-year-old has been very productive over the past few weeks. Stamkos has tallied 12 points (five goals, seven helpers) over his previous 12 games and held a +5 rating over this span. If Stamkos were to time, Ryan O'Reilly would likely move up to the top line.

Steven Stamkos Joins Predators With Four-Year Deal
9 months agoForward Steven Stamkos is leaving his longtime home in Tampa Bay to join the new-look Nashville Predators, who signed him to a four-year, $8 Million AAV contract on July 1. Stammer joins a suddenly dangerous-looking Predators team that also added Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei. The Lightning legend wasn't offered what he was looking for from Tampa, so he decided to head off to Nashville instead. Although he is 34, Stamkos is coming off a 40-goal, 81-point season and has posted over a point-per-game in seven straight years (not including the COVID-shortened season). He will be a massive boost to the Predators' offense and should be drafted in the first four rounds of fantasy drafts.

Steven Stamkos Begins Contract Talks With Lightning
11 months agoThe Tampa Bay Lightning and forward Steven Stamkos have begun preliminary discussions on his next contract. The veteran of 16 NHL seasons, all with the Lightning, can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 if a new deal is not hammered out. "I had a short conversation with [Lightning general manager Julien Brisebois] after [Game 5]; he reached out to my agent," Stamkos said at Tampa Bay's locker cleanout on Wednesday. "That's all that we have right now, but for sure hopefully there's some discussions and you have to start somewhere, so I'm looking forward to that." The 34-year-old tallied 40 goals and 81 points on 262 shots on goal across 79 regular-season games before tallying five goals in five first-round games against the Florida Panthers.
