Steven Matz Hurt By Errors In Season Debut
6 years agoMaking his first start of the 2019 season, New York Mets left-hander Steven Matz allowed three runs, but just one was earned. Tossing 5 1/3 innings, the 27-year-old allowed six hits, but walked none and struck out three. While his team was trailing by the time his night was over, the offense would storm back to score five unanswered runs to secure the victory. As for Matz, Marlins Park remains a comfortable place for him to pitch, as his 3-0 career record at the stadium remained intact. He's scheduled to pitch again on Sunday, tentatively making this his first two-start week this year.
