Steven Matz Bounces Back With Victory
6 years agoAfter allowing eight runs and not recording a single out his last time out, New York Mets pitcher Steven Matz took on the Phillies once again, but the results were drastically different. The New York native went six innings Monday, allowing just one run on three hits, striking out six for the quality start and win. It was a complete reversal and the fact that it happened against the same opponent speaks volumes about Matz's psyche. This is the first start this week for the 27-year-old, who'll make his next appearance on Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
