Steven Brault Has Tough Matchup Against Reds
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates pitcher Steven Brault is slated to make his third start of the season in a tough matchup against the Reds in Cincinnati on Wednesday. Brault, who gave up three hits and two runs in 5 2/3 innings of relief work against the Dodgers on May 24, gets the ball as the Pirates starting rotation is dealing with several injuries. The 27-year-old lefty has not fared well in his two other starts, allowing eight runs and 11 hits, including three long balls, in just 7 2/3 innings. Cincinnati has fared well against left-handed starters this year, posting a slash line of .245/.308/.380 with 15 home runs and a .292 BABIP in 510 plate appearances.
