Steven Brault Day-To-Day With Tightness In Arm
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Steven Brault (arm) exited Friday's game with what has been described as latissimus muscle tightness, according to Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Mackey says he is currently listed as day-to-day with the injury. Prior to leaving, Brault had been struggling in his second straight appearance, allowing three runs — two earned — on three hits and a hit by pitch while striking out one in two innings of work. After allowing no runs and no hits in his first three innings of Spring Training, Brault has now allowed six runs — five earned — on eight hits, a hit by pitch and a walk while striking out two in his last five innings of work. Brault is coming off a 2020 campaign in which he posted career-bests in ERA (3.38) and strikeout rate (21.3%) across 42 2/3 innings of work. When healthy, Brault can be a solid, matchup-dependent streaming option in NL-only leagues.
