Steve Pearce in the Lineup for Fifth Straight Game, Could be Everyday Outfielder
7 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Steve Pearce is batting fifth and starting in left field for the Blue Jays Tuesday night against the Orioles, his fifth consecutive game in the lineup. Pearce has homered in three games in a row, including a two-run shot that opened the scoring in the third inning of their win over the Orioles on Monday night. While he was originally thought to be a platoon partner for Curtis Granderson in left, Randal Grichuk's extreme struggles have led manager John Gibbons to play Granderson and Pearce at the corner spots in the outfield, even against lefties. With more playing time, Pearce could be a savvy add in all leagues.
