Sterling Shepard Practices In Full Thursday
5 years agoNew York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard (concussion) practiced in full on Thursday for the first time since he suffered a concussion in Week 1. He sat out of the Week 2 game. However, Bennie Fowler (hamstring) and Cody Latimer (concussion) missed practice. With Fowler and Latimer trending toward sitting out in Week 3 against the Buccaneers, it would be Shepard, Russell Shepard, Cody Core and T.J. Jones as rookie quarterback Daniel Jones' weapons in his debut. The first-round pick will likely lean mostly on running back Saquon Barkley and tight end Evan Engram. Shepard has WR3 upside, but he's a risky play in Jones' debut against an improved Tampa defense.
