Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton Sit Against Cleveland
3 years agoNew York Giants wide receivers Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton did not play in Sunday's 17-13 preseason loss to the Cleveland Browns. The Giants have kept the majority of their starters on the sideline for both preseason contests. Shepard and Slayton are expected to play in the first half of Sunday's exhibition finale against the New England Patriots. Shepard has had a strong training camp and could lead the team in receptions in 2021, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. He hauled in 66 receptions on 90 targets for 656 yards and three touchdowns while rushing six times for 49 yards and a touchdown over 12 games last season. Slayton logged 13 snaps and was targeted three times during the preseason opener against the New York Jets. He caught 48 passes for 740 yards and eight touchdowns in 2020. The Giants wide receiver depth chart is Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, Kadarius Toney, and John Ross. Slayton and Shepard both have WR5 upside in upcoming fantasy drafts this season.
