Stephen Piscotty Scratched From Lineup Friday
4 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Stephen Piscotty (wrist) was scratched from Friday's lineup due to left wrist soreness, according to San Francisco Chronicle writer Matt Kawahara. Kawahara reports that Piscotty received a cortisone shot for the ailment, and that he is expected to miss a couple days. Piscotty has struggled this spring with a .150/.280/.150 line and eight strikeouts in 25 plate appearances, which is not a good sign coming off the worst year of his career where he hit .226 with a .629 OPS in 45 games. He has shown 15 to 20 home run potential in his bat throughout his career, but until he shows marked improvement at the plate he shouldn't be considered outside of deeper AL-only formats.
