1 day agoPittsburgh Steelers owner and president Art Rooney II said on Monday that it's unlikely the team will re-sign both impending free-agent quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields this offseason. "I wouldn't close the door but I'd say it's probably unlikely. I think both of them see themselves as starters and I don't know that they want to share the same job again next year," Rooney said. Wilson has already said that he'd love to stay in Pittsburgh, but it's probably more likely that the 36-year-old walks instead of Fields, who opened the 2024 campaign as the starter with Wilson nursing a calf injury. Wilson initially gave Pittsburgh's offense more of a spark, but he finished off the year with five straight losses, including another first-round playoff exit in a defeat at the hands of the division-rival Baltimore Ravens. With former head coach Pete Carroll joining the Raiders, Wilson could be looking to reunite with Carroll in the desert.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
