Steelers To Play In Ireland In 2025
35 seconds agoThe NFL announced on Thursday evening that the Pittsburgh Steelers will be the designated home team for the first-ever regular-season game played in Ireland during the 2025 season. Pittsburgh's opponent will be announced at a later date. The game will be played at Croke Park, the largest stadium in Ireland and the home of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The Rooney family, who own the Steelers, emigrated from Ireland to Pittsburgh, and former team president Dan M. Rooney served as the U.S. ambassador to Ireland from 2009-12. The Steelers also played a preseason game in Ireland back in 1997 against the Chicago Bears. The only other international regular-season game Pittsburgh has played in came in 2013 in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings at Wembley Stadium in London.
