6 years agoUpdating a previous post, Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte will not play for the next few days. According to Rob Biertempfel, "Hurdle says Marte is getting a couple of days down to work on his swing 'like we did with Andrew [McCutchen].'" Marte batted .183 in June with only two homers and 11 RBI. He struck out about a quarter of the time. He had an OPS of .946 with four homers in the month of May. Some time off should help the Dominican outfielder to reset and get back to form. Marte can certainly be useful in the second half of the season.--Aaron
