4 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Starling Marte (rib) will start his rehab process by "initiating [a] hitting progression." In more baseball terms, Marte will begin taking dry swings this weekend. He hasn't played since April 18, when he suffered a non-displaced fracture of his 12th rib after taking an awkward swing. The Marlins are desperately missing their center fielder, as they are trotting out five position players with batting averages below .200 for Friday's game. Marte is still at the very beginning of his rehab, so he shouldn't be expected back any time soon.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
