Starling Marte Resumes Baseball Activities
7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte (oblique) has resumed baseball activities less than one week after being placed on the 10-day disabled list. The 29-year-old strained his right oblique while swinging the bat on May 15 and has been held out of action since. His absence shouldn't last much longer, however. Marte is eligible to return on Saturday and has been swinging the bat, throwing, and running the bases this week. Austin Meadows, who has impressed in his short stint as the Pirates' starting center fielder, will likely be the odd man out when Marte returns.
