Starling Marte Not In Sunday's Lineup
5 months agoNew York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (knee) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs. Marte left Saturday's game with right knee soreness, but it does not look like he will need to hit the injured list at this time. The Mets have the day off on Monday which will let Marte get a bit of extra rest. The veteran outfielder is slashing .278/.328/.416 with seven home runs, 30 RBI, 38 runs and 12 stolen bases this season. DJ Stewart is starting in right field in Marte's absence and will bat sixth against Cubs right-hander Javier Assad. Stewart is 0-for-2 in his career against the 26-year-old.
