Starling Marte Activated And Starting Friday
1 year agoThe New York Mets activated outfielder Starling Marte (head) from the injured list on Friday, and he's back in the starting lineup. Marte is starting in right field and batting sixth against Baltimore Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer. Marte landed on the injured list on July 20 due to recurring migraines, but he's past the headaches now and is back in New York's lineup for a weekend series against the first-place O's. The 34-year-old veteran outfielder hasn't been a great source for counting stats in 2023 besides his 24 stolen bases in 307 at-bats. Otherwise, he's slashing a pedestrian .254/.308/.332 with five home runs, 28 RBI and 38 runs scored for the Mets. As long as he stays healthy, he should play most days in right field for New York.
