Detroit Tigers corner infielder Spencer Torkelson, the first overall pick in the draft, started working with Hall of Fame shortstop Alan Trammell during Tigers summer camp as he transitions from first to third base. Torkelson also had his first at-bat at Comerica Park on Wednesday, grounding out softly to shortstop. The power-hitting first baseman from Arizona State was one of the most big-league ready bats of any draft class, which is why he went No. 1 overall last month. But the Tigers included him in their summer camp in order to get eyes on him every day and to help with his transition to the hot corner. Torkelson should rise through Detroit's minor league system very quickly because of his power and advanced approach at the dish, but don't expect him to play in the majors in 2020.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
