Spencer Torkelson Walks, Scores Run In Spring Debut
4 years agoDetroit Tigers third baseman Spencer Torkelson made his spring training debut on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He entered the game in the third inning, replacing Willi Castro at third base. His only at-bat came in the fifth inning. He drew a walk and wound up scoring a run on a JaCoby Jones double. Torkelson cut his finger a little under a week ago, which delayed his spring debut. Expect to see him make his first start some time soon. The 21-year-old Torkelson was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft. He's the Tigers' top prospect and is currently ranked No. 3 on MLB.com's prospect rankings.
