Spencer Steer Plays Long Ball Thursday
8 months agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Spencer Steer slugged a solo home run as part of a 2-2 tie on Thursday versus the Chicago Cubs. The 26-year-old didn't waste much time as his first homer of the spring got the Reds on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Steer impressed in his first full tour through the big leagues in the 2023 season, hitting .271 with 23 home runs, 15 stolen bases, 86 RBI, and an .820 OPS across 156 games and a hefty 665 trips to the plate. It was a big turn of events following his 28-game debut in the 2022 season in which he limped to a .211 average with two homers across 108 plate appearances. He projects for some regression with 20 homers and nine steals in the 2024 season and could be overvalued with a 114.6 ADP.
