Spencer Schwellenbach Strikes Out 10 Across Eight Shutout Innings
2 mins agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Schwellenbach tossed eight shutout innings en route to leading Atlanta to their first victory of the campaign over the Miami Marlins. In this start, Schwellenbach allowed just two hits, with no walks, and struck out 10 batters. Schwellenbach was in complete control of the Miami offense. His first hit allowed came in the sixth inning to Liam Hicks. Then in the seventh, Griffin Connie would reach on a line drive to left field. In his first start of the season, Schwellenbach tossed six shutout innings of one-hit ball. After posting an impressive 2.73 ERA, 0.97 WHIP with an 18:86 BB:K across his final 79 innings of his rookie season, Schwellenbach appears to have reached a new level in his sophomore campaign. Fantasy managers should continue to view the Nebraska product as a must-start option in all formats. He is scheduled to face the Pittsburgh Pirates in his next start.
